Bangladesh Fined 10 Per Cent of Match Fee for Slow Over-Rate

Bangladesh have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second ODI against Zimbabwe.

Match Referee David Gilbert imposed the sanction after Bangladesh were found to be two overs short of the required over-rate in the match played in Harare on Thursday.

According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl within the allotted time. As Bangladesh fell two overs short, the players were fined a total of 10 per cent of their match fee.

Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz admitted the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.

The charge was laid by on-field umpires Allahudien Palekar and Iknow Chabi, third umpire Percival Sizara, and fourth umpire Forster Mutizwa.
