Sylhet Titans clarify Nasums dues, aim to dispel confusion
Sylhet Titans have issued an official statement addressing media reports regarding alleged unpaid dues of cricketer Nasum Ahmed. In a press release sent on Monday, the BPL franchise claimed that all payments owed to the player have already been settled and that no outstanding dues remain.
According to the statement, Nasum Ahmed, who was contracted in Category ‘B’ for the BPL 2025–26 season, was entitled to a total remuneration of BDT 3.5 million, which has been fully paid by the franchise. The matter was also resolved last month at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) office.
Regarding the bonus issue, Sylhet Titans stated that there had been a verbal discussion with the player prior to the draft about an additional bonus if the team became champions. However, since the team did not achieve that result, there is no legal or contractual obligation to provide the bonus.
The franchise also clarified the payment method, saying that the full amount was paid in cash at the player’s request, as he preferred not to receive it through banking channels. While other players returned advance cheques issued during the tournament for security reasons after receiving their payments, Nasum Ahmed has yet to return his cheque. The statement also noted that he was absent on the day payments were distributed at the BCB office.
Sylhet Titans reiterated their commitment to professionalism and ensuring players receive their rightful dues. They expressed hope that this clarification will put an end to any misunderstandings surrounding the issue.
