England Secures Four-Wicket Win in a Two-Day Incredible Test at Melbourne
Ending an 18-match losing streak in Australia, England claimed a four-wicket victory in a two-day Test at Melbourne. This win takes the series to 3-1 ahead of the final in Sydney.
On the second evening of the fourth Test, England’s batsmen chased a target of 175, playing in their familiar “Bazball” style. They reached the target in just 33 overs, bringing joy to traveling fans on an otherwise challenging tour.
The match turned when England dismissed Australia for 132 in their second innings. Brydon Carse took 4-34 and captain Ben Stokes 3-24, filling the gap left by the hamstring injury of Gus Atkinson.
In a remarkable twist, Carse came in as a number three opener. Earlier, Crawley and Ben Duckett put together a storming 51-run partnership in 6.5 overs. Crawley scored 37 and Duckett 34. Jacob Bethell, making a return to the side, contributed 40 runs. The winning runs came off Harry Brook’s thigh pad, sparking jubilant celebrations among England supporters in the stands.
