Bangladesh women’s cricket received a major boost in the ICC’s annual rankings update, climbing one spot to seventh by overtaking Pakistan. In the same update, Australia maintained their dominance at the top in both men’s Test and women’s ODI formats.

For this ranking cycle, all matches played since May 2025 have been counted at full value, while results from the previous two years have been weighted at 50 percent. This calculation has led to shifts for some teams, while others have managed to hold on to their positions.

There has been no change at the top of the men’s Test rankings. Australia strengthened their position with a three-point increase to reach 131 rating points, while South Africa remained second with 119 points. Pakistan also benefited, moving ahead of Sri Lanka with 89 points.

The remaining spots in the top ten are occupied by West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. However, Ireland have dropped out of the rankings after failing to play the required number of matches. To return, they must play at least two Tests within the next year, a condition that also applies to Afghanistan.

In the women’s ODI rankings, Australia’s dominance continues despite a slight drop to 163 points. England remain second with 128 points but are still well behind, while the rest of the top six teams have retained their previous positions.
