Bangladesh Make Two Changes for Series-Deciding Match
Bangladesh have made two changes to their playing XI for the third and series-deciding ODI. Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain have been rested, with Mustafizur Rahman and Tanvir Islam coming into the side. New Zealand, who kept the same XI in the first two matches, have also made one change, bringing back left-arm pacer Ben Lister in place of Blair Tickner.
The match, effectively an unofficial final, is being held at the Shaheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. With the three-match series level at 1-1, today’s contest will determine the winner.
Bangladesh once again lost the toss, as New Zealand captain Tom Latham won it for the third consecutive time and opted to field first. As a result, the hosts will have to bat first.
Bangladesh XI: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (captain), Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Saif Hassan, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Liton Das (wicketkeeper), Towhid Hridoy, Afif Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana.
New Zealand XI: Tom Latham (captain), Muhammad Abbas, Josh Clarkson, Dean Foxcroft, Nick Kelly, Jaden Lennox, Henry Nicholls, Will O’Rourke, Nathan Smith, Ben Lister and Will Young.
