A storm of records at a young age, Suryavanshi dominates T20 cricket
India’s teenage batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi is redefining power-hitting in T20 cricket. At just 15 years old, he is smashing records with a flurry of sixes—an achievement rarely seen in the format.
The young opener now sits at the top of the list for most sixes by a teenager in T20s. In just 26 innings, he has struck 94 sixes, surpassing the previous record held by Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Of his 1,058 runs, 564 have come from sixes, highlighting his aggressive batting approach.
He has carried the same dominance into the IPL. After making his debut in the 2025 season, Suryavanshi scored a 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans, setting the record for the fastest T20 hundred by an Indian. He also became the quickest to reach 500 runs in the IPL, doing so in just 227 balls and breaking Glenn Maxwell’s record.
Recently, he set another world record with a 36-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He became the fastest batter to reach 1,000 T20 runs, achieving the milestone in just 473 balls. So far, he has four T20 centuries to his name—the most by any teenager.
Overall, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is establishing his dominance in T20 cricket at a very young age, raising high expectations for his future.
